Scuba Mask

The scuba mask is what allows one to visually explore the underwater world. There is a wide variety of masks available to today’s divers, but not all masks are created equal. Therefore it is highly recommended that one try on several different masks in order to find the ideal one for you.

The average scuba mask can be found in one of two main designs; either three or four pane. A three pane mask uses a single forward lens with two smaller lenses on either side. A four pane mask looks more like a pair of goggles, with two forward lenses and one on each side as well.

Unfortunately, a scuba mask will not do you much good if it does not seal properly against the face. A leaky mask can fill up with water relatively quickly and obscure one’s vision. To check the seal, place the mask against your face without the head strap and take in a quick breath through your nose. If the mask stays in place, then you have a proper seal.
